Privacy Policy

Account information. When you sign in with Google, Apple, or with an email and password, we receive your email address and, if available, your name and profile photo.

Your plants and content. Plant names, species, care settings (watering and fertilizing schedules, light needs), watering and care history, notes, AI diagnoses, and journal entries.

Photos. Photos you take or upload to identify plants, diagnose health issues, or document growth. Before storing a photo we remove embedded location (GPS/EXIF) metadata.

Voice notes. If you use voice input, the audio is transcribed and only the resulting text is stored — the audio recording itself is not saved.

Device & usage data. Anonymous usage and platform analytics to improve the app, and your time zone (used locally on your device to schedule watering reminders). We do not collect your location.

To provide the core service (storing your garden, care tracking, journal), to power AI features (identification, diagnosis, advisor), to schedule watering reminders, and to maintain, secure, and improve the app.

Watering reminders are scheduled locally on your device based on your care settings and time zone — they are not sent from our servers.

To identify plants, diagnose health, and answer advisor questions, the relevant photo, audio, and/or text are sent to Google's Gemini AI service for processing and a response is returned to you. We do not use your content to train our own models.

We use Google Firebase for authentication, database (Firestore), photo storage, and analytics, and Google's Gemini API for AI features. Your data is processed on their infrastructure under their terms and security practices. We do not sell your data or share it for advertising purposes.

Data in transit between the app and our services is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.

Sharing your garden publicly is optional and off by default. If you enable it, only limited fields (display name, plant nicknames, species, levels, and plant photos) become viewable via a link you share. We never expose your email, location, or care history. You can disable it at any time, which removes the public page.

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete individual plants in the app at any time. You can also permanently delete your account and all associated data (plants, photos, profile, and access credentials) directly from the app under Profile / Settings, or by emailing us at abarrerolabajos@gmail.com. If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you have rights under the GDPR to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, use the in-app deletion tools or contact us at abarrerolabajos@gmail.com.

Folia is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the effective date above.
